Summer School on General Algebra and Ordered Sets 2024

THIRD ANNOUNCEMENT (5 September 2024)

The workshop topics include general algebra, universal algebra, lattice theory, ordered algebraic structures, and applications in logic and elsewhere. The conference schedule will consist of talks by the participants, and discussions. A video projector, an overhead projector and a board will be available (presentations in PDF are preferred).

Program Highlights:

Opening Session: The program starts with an opening session on Monday morning, September 9th.

Invited Speakers: Renowned experts will be sharing their knowledge through in-depth lectures (2-3 hours each) spread throughout the week.

Participant Presentations: Alongside the invited speakers, participants will have the opportunity to present their research during focused talks (20-30 minutes).

Daily Schedule: Each day will feature two dedicated sessions: one in the morning and another after dinner.

Free Time: Take advantage of the afternoons to explore the stunning local surroundings at your own pace.

Social Event: We've planned a dedicated free day (either Tuesday or Wednesday) for a full-day trip followed by a social dinner, fostering connections with fellow participants.

Venue and Transportation

The workshop will take place in Horský Hotel Soláň in Beskydy mountains. The area is located in the town Karolinka, 18 km east of Vsetin.

We recommend you to reserve your train tickets, in advance.

The nearest bust stop to our hotel is called “Hutisko-Solanec, Čarták, Sedlo”. Then, you should walk in this direction approximately 8 minutes to reach our hotel.

Some extras: There are numbers of grocery stores (Albert, Billa, DM), pharmacies, etc in the city centers of “Rožnov pod Radhoštěm” and “Karolinka”. Also, you may want to walk around, or -perhaps- you need to travel back to these cities for your return. For this aim, you can take the bus again 940073 / 940074 from Hutisko-Solanec, Čarták, Sedlo near our hotel for both cities. Please search the timetables regarding your necessity, from the links given above.

Payable by bank transfer. The fee includes accommodation, full board in the hotel restaurant, coffee breaks and printed materials (for participants). The first meal served will be supper on September 8, and the last meal will be lunch on September 13. The fee has to be paid by transfer to the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists account (details will be provided by an e-mail). All payments must be free of bank charges to the receiver. Invoice will be sent by e-mail by the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists after payment receipt. Should you have any special requirements concerning the invoice (pro forma invoice etc.), please contact us.
